He was born in 1952 in Zaferimilli village of Ordu province. He completed his primary education at Zaferimilli Village Primary School in Ordu province. He is married and the father of five children. He started his business life in 1977 in the Knitwear sector in Cağaloğlu and continues his activities. He served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Knitwear and Similar Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen between 1984 and 1990, and as Deputy Chairman between 1990 and 1997, and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Istanbul between 2002 and 2005, and as Deputy Chairman between 2014 and 2015. and served as a Board Member between 2015 and 2018. He has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Knitwear and Similar Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen since 2000.
